FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness…We hear forgive and move on all the time. But what does that mean? And why is it so important? Forgiveness is the last part of healing. Without forgiveness your emotions will harbor internally and manifest in other ways. Without forgiveness we become slaves to those emotions. Our emotions make a connection with similar events/life experiences that may trigger those memories. Unconsciously or consciously, our reactions are not as organic. They are tainted by the original traumatic/unfortunate experience. We continue living those experiences over and over throughout our life until we decide to be free.   Think about someone not […]

The Mind The Body & Your Posture

With my mental health training, I was trained to look for congruency in the client’s body language and what they are verbally expressing. While sitting in front of my computer, I caught myself sitting there looking at the screen completely uninspired. The sensation of pure boredom and disenchantment with corporate life absorbed my body. So I thought to myself, “maybe I just need a break”. I decided to go through […]

Meditation Tips for Beginners

The first time I tried a meditation practice, I promptly decided I would never do that again! Everyone said I was going to feel blissful and relaxed, but all I recieved was pain in my body, distraction from sudden itches, and a whirlwind of internal judgement for not being able to silence my mind. Luckily, my yoga teacher training forced me to go through an entire month of hour long meditations and hour long breathing practices. Although I rarely experienced a sense of calm during the month of meditation and breathing, I did start to observe short segments of present […]
